2024 Ede Day : Planning Committee Pays Courtesy Visit To Adejare, Giwa, Alimi
• As Committee calls for support, prayers, and advice
The Chairman of the Ede Day 2024, Hon. Lukman Afolabi, had led the central working committee on a courtesy visit to Ambassador Adejare Bello, Alhaja Lateefat Giwa, and Mr Taofeek Alimi to their private residences in Osogbo.
In his opening address, the Secretary of the Central Working Committee, Dr. Nurein Lawal, emphasized the significance of appointing a youth as the chairman for this year’s Ede Day.
He also highlighted the importance of keeping key stakeholders informed about the upcoming events and the committee’s progress.
In her remarks, Alhaja Lateefat Giwa expressed her appreciation to the central working committee for their tireless efforts to make this year’s Ede Day a memorable one.

She also thanked His Royal Highness Oba Dr. Munirudeen Adesola Lawal (Laminisa I) for his continued guidance of the Descendant Union.
Furthermore, she underscored the pivotal role played by the Forum of Ede Youth Development Association (FEYDA) in safeguarding Ede’s assets, especially during the issue surrounding Ede new stadium.
“I want to encourage the governor and the state government to take over the stadium as a matter of duty,” Giwa stated.
“Everyone can see development across our town, and despite being in the opposition party, we are happy with it.”

Ambassador Adejare Bello, in his own remarks, expressed gratitude to the committee for the honor, stating, “I’m happy to see you all. With what we have in Ede, we must seize the opportunity.
“When you see Mr. Governor, tell him to invite his associates and contractors to the event. He should reach out to his people to support us. During the Asiwaju program, you saw the number of dignitaries that attended” Bello said.
Also, Taofeek Alimi, in his remarks, emphasized the importance of supporting one’s place of birth. He also prayed for the committee’s continued success in organizing the event, adding, “The development we are witnessing in our community today could not have been achieved without our own people.”

In response, the Chairman of the 2024 Ede Day Central Planning Committee, Hon. Lukman Afolabi, praised them for their contributions to the development of Ede. “Your role in the progress of Ede is why we are here to honor you, and we will continue to recognize your efforts,” he said.
“You always make us proud, and we thank God for your lives,” Afolabi added.
He also sought their continued support and prayers as the committee pressed ahead with preparations for the upcoming event.
