Barca To Sign Retired Arsenal Ex-goalkeeper To Replace Injured Ter Stegen
Former Arsenal and Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is set to join Barcelona as a free agent.
Negotiations are believed to be so advanced that Szczesny is set to undergo medicals with the LaLiga side.
The move will see the Polish stopper come out of retirement and sign a one-year deal.
Szczesny himself has already confirmed interest from Barca and hinted he could never turn them down.
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has been forced to bring in a new goalkeeper following Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s awful injury.
The 34-year-old may need a little bit of time to get up to speed but it’s thought he will then rival Inaki Pena for the No. 1 spot for the rest of the 2024-25 campaign while Ter Stegen is sidelined.
