As the preparation for the December 7, 2024 Ede Day continues to remain on top hear, the Chairman of the Central Working Committee, Hon. Lukman Afolabi Abere Soose has called for support from Ede indigenes at home and diaspora.
Afolabi’s call to all indigenes of Ede comes after the Central Working Committee met yesterday to brainstorm the strategies to be used for this year’s Ede Day celebration.
He said Ede indigenes all around the world should be proud that one of their own, Senator Ademola Adeleke, is the executive governor of Osun State.
He further explained that the governor, who understands the importance of a good road that will attract investors is doing everything possible to ensure that Ede among other major towns in Osun does not remain underdeveloped as it was in the past.
It would be recalled that Afolabi earlier declared that his Central Working Committee was opened for partnership with illustrious sons and daughters of Edeland towards achieving a unique Ede Day.
Also, the Chairman Contact Committee, Majority Leader of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Kofoworola Babajide stressed that it is high time that all indigenes of Ede take the upcoming township celebration as a collective responsibility.
The serving lawmaker who emphasized the need for collective responsibility urged that expecting an official invitation should not halt all Ede indigenes from keying into the planning of the 2024 Ede Day saying the date should be put in mind.
Assistant Secretary of the Central Planning Committee, Hon. Mojeed Adekunle, a.ka. Osama enjoined that the planning of 2024 Ede Day should be devoid of all forms of political coloration.
Adekunle, who also called all inclusiveness for the annual celebration said whatever effort is contributed for the “sake of Ede is done for our own future.”
He called on all youths of Ede to rally round the Central Working Committee in order to ensure that a unique Ede Day celebration is achieved.
