Osun APC, PDP Exchange Bigwig Members Ahead LG Polls

Osun state chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC, and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, are currently exchanging bigwig members ahead of the 2025 February 25 local government election.

Blaze Newz gathers that last week a prominent chieftain of the Osun PDP in Ikirun, Ifelodun Local Government Area, Kayode Oduoye, defected to APC with thousands of his supporters.

Blaze Newz recall that on Tuesday former Chief of Staff to former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Elder Peter Babalola tendered his resignation letter from the PDP.

Although, Babalola, who was a former member of Osun APC as at the time of filing this report has not announced his next political party.

In another surprising defection, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who was former local government chairman of Ife East, Gbenga Owolabi, dump APC for PDP on Wednesday.

In the letter he stated that he was taking the step in exercise of his constitutional and legal rights.

The letter reads, “RESIGNATION AS A MEMBER OF THE PARTY.

“In exercise of my constitution and legal right to belong to a political party of my choice and guided by law.”I wish to resign as a member of All Progressive Congress (APC) with immediate effect.

“I take this opportunity to thank you for the co-operation you accorded me while I was a member of the party.

“However, I do believe it is time to consider my association with the party by resigning and joining The People’s Democracy Party (PDP) as a party of my choice.”

Owolabi was a member of the Osun PDP from where he was elected as Chairman of Ife East local government.

He dumped the PDP under the administration of Rauf Aregbesola until this latest decision to go back to the PDP.
