Police Nab Woman With AK-47, Magazines Hidden Inside Garri Sack
A 30-year-old woman identified as Hauwa Yusuf, has been apprehended by operatives of the Special Tactical Squad for hiding one AK-47 rifle and four AK magazines inside a sack of garri.
The woman was arrested along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway during a stop-and-search operation.
Muyiwa Adejobi, the Force spokesperson, while parading suspects at the STS headquarters in Abuja on Friday stated that, “Yusuf confessed that a notorious bandit terrorising Katsina State, Aminu Basullube, sent her to take delivery of the arms in the Danum Madam Camp area of the state.”
Adejobi said that on August 14, 2024, acting on intelligence, operatives of STS intercepted one Hauwa Yusuf ‘F’ 30 years of Dutsin-Ma LGA of Katsina State, adding that the suspect was arrested while in transit from Lafia, Nasarawa State to Katsina State, inside a Sienna bus along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway.
He revealed that a search was conducted and one AK-47 rifle without breach Number and four AK magazines concealed inside a white sack of Garri were recovered from the suspect.
According to him, during interrogation, the suspect confessed that one Aminu Basullube, a notorious bandit terrorizing Katsina State general axis, sent her to take delivery of the arms in Danum Madam Camp, Katsina State.
