Inspects Oke-fia Flyover
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has reiterated his commitment to speedy delivery of ongoing projects in the state, saying he’s in a hurry to commission the Oke-fia flyover bridge.
During an inspection visit to the project site on Friday, Governor Adeleke alongside members of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), expressed satisfaction with the quality of work done so far, expressing confidence in the capacity of the contractors handling the projects to deliver quality roads and bridges.
The Governor said his emphasis on speedy delivery of the projects was in line with his campaign promise to transform Osun State’s capital city.
According to him, “I am not a Governor who just sits at the office. I have been monitoring the project from Government House, but I had to come and see for myself because I am in a hurry to deliver.
“I wish they will continue at this pace so we can commission the road. What they are doing here is a good job, in line with my campaign to deliver a good capital city, and we will deliver just that.
“The contractor handling the project has shown that they are capable of delivering quality roads and bridges across the areas they are sited. I am satisfied with the quality of work being done.”
“We are determined to take Osun to greater heights. We have demonstrated a strong passion to bridge the infrastructure gap in Osun State. We are convinced that economic growth and development are best achieved when the infrastructure sector is well-developed. Good infrastructure facilitates economic development and good governance.”
Earlier, President of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engr. Margaret Aina Oguntala, commended the governor for utilizing local contents and Nigerian engineers for the project implementation.
Oguntala said Governor Adeleke has proved his critics wrong through his Infrastructural strides within a speace of two years.
She praised the governor’s commitment to infrastructure development and support for the engineering profession.
“There is no doubt that the quality of the job being done is of standard, and we are very impressed that the Governor engaged local content, employing Nigerian Engineers for the job, and they will not disappoint the state. The job will be delivered as and when due,” she said.
