Osun Assembly Passes Salary Increment Bill To Gov Adeleke

The Osun State House of Assembly has finalised arrangements on the passage of the Amendments of the Osun State Local Government Areas Creation and Administration, Amendments(No.7) Bill, 2024.

The bill after careful consideration and passing through all the necessary processes, has thus made provisions for elective positions of the Chairman and its executives for proper administration and governance at the local government level.

Blaze Newz gathered that Osun currently has 30 local government councils including a area council.

In the same vein, careful examinations, scrutiny and proper amendments were concluded on the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission, Amendment (No.1) Bill, 2024 to equally see to the fast track of the local government elections in the state and empower the commission to fully carry out its duties.

The clean copies of the two bills will therefore be forwarded to the Executive Governor of the state for his assent.

Also, on the floor of the assembly, Mr Taye Elutilo was sworn in as the new Permanent Secretary to the Osun Assembly Service Commission following the retirement of Mr Tajudeen Alagbe.

The number one parliamentarian, RT. Hon.Adewale Egbedun, after presenting the certificate to the new Permanent Secretary, prayed for God’s guidance in the new position.

In his response, Mr Elutilo appreciated the entire Assembly for taking him to the peak of his career and pledged to justify the confidence reposed in him in the new position and move the House of Assembly Service Commission forward.
