Oba Olatunbosun Lauds Tinubu’s Move On Inauguration Of Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council

in Ola-Oluwa Local Governmen of Osun State, Oba Abdulazeez Olatunbosun Adebamiji, has lauded the move of President Bola Tinubu in the inauguration of Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council (SNTRC).

President Tinubu represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Acume, inaugurated SNTRC on Tuesday in Imo state.

Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, Ojaja II, emerged Chairman while His Royal Majesty, Dr Benjamin Ikechukwu, the Dein of Agbor became the Secretary General.

Speaking at the inauguration of SNTRC, Oba Olatunbosun expressed his confidence that the council is going to be eminently successful in its objectives.

The monarch noted that there is a lot of strength and wisdom in coming together for development and progress added that individuality leads to weakness and foolishness.

According to Oba Olatunbosun “Cooperating to navigate the path to progress is a task that must be done. When we come together like this and speak with one voice, the government tends to accord us more respect and gives us more listening ears.

“I therefore like to urge us to forge a common front in spite of our different but historically and linguistically related cultures and religions, both of which we must seek to understand rather than despise, and respect rather than condemn.

“We are the custodian of our people’s culture, and we have a duty to protect it.

“None of us is a stranger to these beautiful African qualities and values and others not mentioned, as they are already the fulcrum of our traditional leadership in our various domains.

“This esteem Council should not only be an opportunity to build over previous individual achievements in these regard, but also an opportunity to sell the beauty of the great traditional African rulership and administration, which the colonialists came to destroy, to the nation” Oba Olatunbosun said.

Dignitaries at the SNTRC inauguration are; Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, who is the Chirman of Southern Governors’ Forum, Governor of Yobe State, Mai Malabuni, Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Senator Bello Massari among others.
