Members of the Gboleru Ruling House of Ikirun,in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun State have thanked Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke for not allowing illegality to stand in the process of selecting new Akirun.

In their different interviews granted to Blaze Newz during the weekend members of the Gboleru Ruling House, said the intervention of Governor Adeleke immediately he was sworn into office with his executive order rescued them from being cheated by the Oba Ara Ruling House.

Blaze Newz recalls that Prince Yinusa Akadiri of Oba Ara Ruling House was appointed by immediate past governor, Gboyega Oyetola as Akirun before he was later deposed by Governor Adeleke.

Mogaji of the Gboleru Ruling House, Alimi Abefe who frowned to the prolong vacant of the Akirun stool said this was as a result of non actors who dabbled into the affair of selecting the next Akirun.

According to Abefe, there has been an existing procedure in selecting Akirun agreed upon by princes of Ikirun by the three ruling house namely ; Adedeji, Gboleru and Oba Ara.

“Oba Ara Ruling House has produced eleven kings, Adedeji produced two and our own house is about to produce the third king” he said .

Speaking on why the procedure failed to work after Oba Abdul-Rauf Olayiwola Adedeji II, joined his ancestors four years ago, Abefe said people from Oba Ara Ruling House are the course.

According to Abefe “The procedure has been in existence even before the creation of Osun State.”

He, however, appeal to Osun government to the right step in the appointing new Akirun which will not cause civil unrest in the town.

Also, the head of family (Baale Ile) of Gboleru Ruling House, Da’ud Kolawole, told Blaze Newz that contrary to reports of disunity among his family members, said they are all relating with each with one goal on the issue presenting next Akirun.

Kolawole said , they have all resolved to present Prince Tajudeen Adesegun Gboleru as their candidate for the Akirun stool anytime the government writes them.

He also thanked Governor Adeleke for ensuring that those who believed they can do whatever they like on the selection of Akirun do not continue with the illegality contrary to established gazette of the Ikirun Chieftaincy.

Another member of Gboleru Ruling House, Prince Ibrahim Oyewale called on the government to write them in presenting their own candidate as next Akirun.

Prince Oyewale stressed that they will only withdraw their case in the Appeal court with the only condition of the state government writing them to present their candidate for Akirun stool.

According to Prince Oyewale, “After the White Paper report we expect the government to write the bureau in the house to present our own candidate, if there is a letter to that effect we are ready to withdraw that case.

“We want the government to write us so that we will be confident that the thing has been shifted to our house.”

“Gboleru Ruling House has no problem, anybody selected among us, we will all support him” he stressed.
