Osun Poly Morns Institution’s Pioneer Director Of Publications
A retired veteran lecturer of the Department of Mass Communication, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Pa Adeyemi Bamkefa, has passed away.
According to a statement issued by Dr. Tope Abiola, the institution’s Dean of Student Affairs, Pa Bamkefa died in the early hours of Wednesday.
Baba Banky, as he was fondly called in the Department retired from the services of the polytechnic about 20 years ago, after which he also served as a back up to the Department for about 10 years.
Pa Bankefa, a native of Igbajo in Boluwaduro Local Government area of Osun State.
He had in his First Degree in History and a Masters in Journalism from the United Kingdom. He was a Staff of the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) before he joined the services of The Polytechnic Ibadan, before the Iree stelite Campus metamorphosed to Osun State Polytechnic Iree.
He was the pioneer Director of Publications in the Institution. He was also the Head of Department of Mass Communication and retired as a Chief Lecturer.
While reacting to Pa Bankefa’s demise, the Rector of the Institution, Mr Kehinde Alabi who expressed shock over his death described Pa Bankefa as a dedicated staff, a guardian, mentor and counselor.
Alabi noted that his contributions to the Institution would remain evergreen.
