Sallah: Osun Govt Begins Distribution of Rice

As part of efforts to ameliorate the hardship occasioned by the removal of subsidy on Petroleum products, Osun State government has commenced the distribution of rice paliatives received from the Federal government.

The distribution exercise is being carried out through the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and it is expected to get to all the nooks and crannies of the State before the Eid Elkabir celebrations.

Speaking with newsmen during the official distribution of the rice, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Stephen Niran Atidade commended Senator Ademola Adeleke for his kind gesture, describing him as a promise keeper.

He said the rice palliatives the Governor has ordered to be distributed will,no doubt, go a long way in easing the hardship of the people in these trying times.

Hon. Atidade added that the gesture is the beginning of many good things to come from the present government, while urging residents of the State to continue to support and pray for the administration.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr Moruf Adewale eulogized the Governor for sharing the rice paliatives from the Federal Government to the people of Osun State.

He commended the transparent manner the processs has taken, stressing that the Governor does not want anybody shortchanged.

The Permanent Secretary added that the palliative will be shared among every organization including Labour Leaders, Civil Servants and people with disabilities throughout the state.
