June 12 : ‘We Deserve A Better Life’- Osun CSO Bemoans Tinubu, Tasks Him On Improving Welfare For Nigerians

The Civil Societies Coalition, Osun Chapter ,on Wednesday, called on President Bola Tinubu to be more proactive in providing good governance and improve the welfare of Nigerians.
The CSC, in their hundreds stormed the street of Osogbo, Osun state capital around 9am in the morning, matched from Ayetoro junction through Igbonna, Old Garage, Olaiya, and later terminated the possession at the old Governor’s office.
Addressing momentum during the peaceful possession, the chairman, Osun Civil Societies Coalition, Comrade Waheed Lawal, said the demonstration aimed to convey the people’s dissatisfaction on the current situation in the country.
Lawal said, “What we are doing today is demonstrating to the government that the Nigerian people are not happy due to hunger, poverty, and insecurity in the country.
“We fought for on June 12, 1993, when Abiola bid farewell to poverty and President Tinubu spoke of renewed hope in 2023. What we are witnessing is not a renewal of hope, but a dashed hope.
“We are here today to inform the government that the Nigerian people expect more than what we are currently witnessing. What we are saying is that government should brace up to face the challenges of insecurity, hunger, and threats to our lives.
“The Nigerian people are not happy, and one simple aspect the government should focus on is ensuring security for the lives and properties of the citizens, as well as their welfare.
“We cannot judge Tinubu based on just one year in office, as the challenges we are facing did not start in a year. But we believe that Tinubu can be proactive enough to provide the good governance that the Nigerian people deserve.
“We deserve a better life, a living wage, and the best, not what we are currently witnessing.
“Tinubu has not performed well at all, but he must brace up for the challenges ahead. Nigerians expect more from him than what he is currently doing,” he added
However, Assistant Secretary of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) South West Zone D, Comrade Olutunde Aboke, appealed to President Tinubu to review some of his policies, especially in the education sector.
Aboke said, “the increment of tuition fees in every institution is barbaric. We are here today to tell President Bola Tinubu that the Nigerian masses are tired of some of his decisions.
“We are also appealing to him to come to our rescue in the increment of fuel, foodstuff, and tuition fees.
