Hundreds Of Ajaba Residents Benefit From Benson Adeyemi Foundation Free Medical Outreach

As part of the activities lined up to mark the one-year coronation anniversary of Oba Bisiriyu Adeniji, the Owaloja of Kajola Ajaba, a free medical outreach was provided to over 500 residents of the Ajaba community in Ila Local Government Area of Osun State.

This initiative was funded by the Benson Adeyemi Foundation, a non-governmental organization dedicated to community development.

The medical outreach, which took place on Thursday, included comprehensive services of free blood pressure checks, eye examinations, blood tests, medication delivery, and distribution of free eyeglasses.

The outreach was sponsored by Dr. Fikayo Benson-Adeyemi, the Executive Director of a Non Government Organization, Benson Adeyemi Foundation (BAF), as part of his contribution to humanity.

It should be recalled that the Ila-Orangun born young medical doctor who based in the United States of America had through BAF atended to the need of the people at the grassroots especially in Ila-Orangun, Osogbo, Ogbomoso among others.

The event aimed at enhancing the well-being of the underprivileged residents and contribute to the overall growth and development of the community.

While speaking at the event, Ibukun Akomolafe, the Director of Innovation at the Benson Adeyemi Foundation, emphasized the importance of the initiative to empower and uplift the less privileged people un the society.

“Our goal is to empower and uplift the underprivileged while contributing to the growth and development of society. We are conducting this extensive medical outreach to mark the king’s one-year coronation anniversary, providing essential medical checkups, blood tests, and access to healthcare professionals.

“We will be treating over 500 people. We believe that bringing healthcare services to this many people in the community will make a significant impact, particularly through the early detection of diseases and the treatment of minor ailments that can be managed effectively if caught early,” Akomolafe said.

In his remarks, Oba Bisiriyu Adeniji, called on government at all levels to emulate the Benson Adeyemi Foundation’s initiative by providing free and affordable healthcare to rural areas. He highlighted the importance of such programs in preventing untimely deaths due to lack of access to adequate healthcare.

“This program is part of the activities rolled out to mark my one-year anniversary as a king, and I am grateful to my son and the Benson Adeyemi Foundation for their support through this free medical outreach,” Oba Adeniji said. “If an individual can undertake such an initiative, the government can certainly assist as well. Many untimely deaths occur because people cannot afford adequate healthcare, and it is crucial for the government to come to the aid of those living in rural areas.”

The successful outreach underscores the potential of community-driven initiatives in improving public health and highlights the ongoing need for accessible healthcare services in rural regions.
