Amotekun Nabs Ex-convict, Other For Alleged Shop Breaking In Osun

Operatives of Osun Amotekun Corps on Tuesday arrested one Tajudeen Ridwan, 30 years from Edo State for allegedly stealing electrical appliances at a mosque in Isale-Osun, Osogbo, Osun State.

The suspect was arrested at around 6:30 am by the operatives of Amotekun for stealing an electronic musical engine inside a mosque in the Isale-Osun area of Osogbo.

According to a statement from the local security agency, the suspect was caught in the act by worshippers of the mosque after stealing the Electronic Engine and trying to abscond, the worshippers quickly call the attention of Amotekun Osogbo Command to the act and the Amotekun operatives swung into action immediately and arrested the culprit on the spot.

The felon confessed to being an ex-convict who just completed his Four-year jail term in March this year for the same act.

Confirming the arrest to the newsmen in Osogbo, the Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi said that the operatives of the corps arrested the suspect who disguised as a worshipper in a mosque in Osogbo for stealing an Electronic Musical Engine used to call worshippers to prayers.

“He was caught after morning prayer thinking that all the worshippers had left the mosque, but luck ran against him when some worshippers saw him parking the Electronic Musical Engine inside a shark bag and the attention of Amotekun Osogbo Command was called to the act and the operatives swung into action immediately and apprehended the felon on the spot.

Upon preliminary investigation, he confessed to being an ex-convict who just completed his 4 years jail term for the same act in March this year”. Adewinmbi said.

The suspect has been handed over to the police for subsequent interrogation and prosecution.
