A Letter To The Wall “THE HAND OF GOD: Governor Ayedatiwa’s Odyssey”
By Akinjeji Friday Adeola
In the labyrinth of political turmoil, where power shifts like the sands of time, there emerges occasionally a figure whose journey seems ordained by a force beyond mortal comprehension. In the annals of history, there are moments when the divine hand seems palpably present, guiding the destinies of individuals and nations alike.
Such is the narrative of Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa of Ondo State, whose travail showcased the remarkable intervention of what many can only describe as the Mighty Hand of God. The saga that unfolded during his impeachment proceedings was nothing short of tumultuous.
Accusations flew like arrows, and the political landscape trembled with uncertainty. Yet, amidst the chaos, he stood resolute, his spirit unbowed, and his resolve unyielding. It was as though an unseen force enveloped him, guiding his steps through the tempest, yet his song was victory.
History they say, is always with us, there have been countless instances where individuals, seemingly unqualified by worldly standards, have been chosen by a higher power for greatness.
From David, the shepherd boy who became king, to Esther, the Jewish orphan who became queen, the anointing of the uneducated fisherman, Simon Peter, as the rock upon which the church. God’s ways have consistently defied human expectations.
In Governor Ayedatiwa, we witness yet another chapter in this timeless saga—a reminder that God’s ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts.
For in His infinite wisdom, He chooses whom He wills, regardless of pedigree or prestige. And in doing so, He reminds us that true power lies not in the hands of men but in the sovereignty of the divine irrespective of human manipulations.
But beyond the political drama lies a deeper narrative—one that speaks to the plight of the people in the riverine parts of Ondo State. These are communities often forgotten, marginalized by the tides of development, and neglected by the corridors of power.
For us, Governor Ayedatiwa’s ascension represents more than just a political victory; it symbolizes hope—a glimmer of light amidst the darkness of neglect. Indeed, Governor Ayedatiwa’s rise to power can be seen as an answer to the fervent prayers of the commoners in Ondo State.
Historically marginalized and overlooked, they have long yearned for a champion—a leader who would heed their cries and advocate for their rights. Yet, the “Elites” are manipulating us with their ambition, tearing us apart and history is replete with cautionary tales of the consequences of overrating oneself above one’s ethnic group or society.
The fruits of struggle of 15 years is already in our hand, let us embrace unity and allow God to lead because the folly of hubris knows no bounds. While I also employ my colleagues (the educated) to refrain from social media attack to promote the values of professionalism and civility that we strive to uphold.
As we reflect, let us remember that in the darkest of times, when all seems lost, the mighty hand of God is ever-present, guiding us through the storm.
And let us take solace in the knowledge that His plans for us are greater than we could ever imagine and quest for his mysterious intervention in our lives.
Let us embrace and pray for Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa Continuity.Top of Form
