An Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmod Yusuf Olarewaju, who is the Chief Imam of Ibukunolu Filling Station Central Mosque, Ilemba Awori, Lagos, has called on Nigerian Muslims not to be discouraged in engaging with good deeds even in the face of economic hardship.

The cleric, who spoke on the forthcoming month of fasting, Ramadan, during an interview with Blaze Newz,on Saturday, urged well-to-do Muslims to be ready to feed many saying “Don’t let anyone discourage you from doing the good act your mind encourages you to do.”

According to the religion leader, “Feed many people if you are capable. Sponsor Radio program during Ramadan if you have the money.”

Sheikh Ahmod who doubles as Grand Chief Imam of Apado town, Ilorin East, Kwara State, called on Nigerians to understand that they are in the period of managing what they have and not to live the comfortable life they desired for now.

He charged Muslims to continue in their supplication to Allah by seeking His divine mercy on Nigeria’s economic woes.

The cleric who bemoaned the current hardship forcing Nigerians to underfeed themselves, appealed to President Bola Tinubu-led federal government to act fast in curbing hardship by taking a decisive policy that will play a quick and tremendous role in controlling the inflation.
