Lagos based Islamic and arabic training centre, Darul Irshad Wal Is’ad of Nigeria has awarded its longest serving teacher, Shaykh Yaqub Abdul Kareem with the sum of N500,000.

The handing over of the N500,000 cheque to Shaykh Yaqub Abdul Kareem was done by the Darul Irshad Wal Is’ad of Nigeria propietor, sheikh Ibrahim saheed Olawumi (Baba Lorile),on Wednesday, at the school premises as part of activities for the aged teacher 40 years of teaching anniversary to celebrate his retirement.

Blaze Newz gathered that Darul Irshad Wal Is’ad of Nigeria was established close to 50 years ago by Late Sheik Saheed Olawumi, alumnus of Markaz Agege Islamic and Arabic training centre.

The 40 years of teaching anniversary special program for Shaykh Yaqub Abdul Kareem was attended by Islamic scholars and students of different arabic schools in Lagos who showered him with prayer and praises.

They described the kind gesture under the leadership of sheikh Ibrahim saheed Olawumi (Baba Lorile) as first of its kind in Nigeria Islamic history, which a private owned school that runs nearly free tuition would donate a sum of five hundred thousand naira to compensate its retiring staff.

They also noted that this will serve as motivation to other teachers who are dedicated and loyal in their teaching service.

Appreciating the legendary teacher, Darul Orile posted on its official facebook account saying “Congratulations To shaykh Yaqub Abdul Kareem ( Shaykhul Madrasah) On His 40th Anniversary Of Teaching At Darul.”
