28-year-old Man Lands In Court For Alleged Theft Of Block Moulding Equipment

A 28-old-man , Bayo Abimbola , has been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrates ‘ Court on Tuesday over an alleged theft of block moulding equipment and other building materials .

Abimbola pleaded not guilty to a six- count charge of theft , unlawful entry and breach of public peace slammed against him.

The Police Prosecutor , ASP Jacob Akintunde, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Oct. 15 , at about 5:00 a.m at Oke-Oba area , Osogbo .

Akintunde said the accused unlawfully entered into a block industry belonging to one Adeleke Rasaki and allegedly stole some block making items .

He said that the accused person stole block moulder , sumek generator , tray , cutlasses with a bulldozer motor parts .

“The defendant also carted away two bags of dangote cements and other items belonging to one Akinwumi Akinpelu before he was arrested and brought to court.

The prosecutor said the offence contravened Sections 81 , 249 (d) , 390 (9) , 383 (1) , and 430 (1) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 vol. 11 , Laws of OSUN , 2002 .

The defence Counsel, Mr Babatunde Akinwumi , prayed the court to grant the defendant bail in the most liberal terms .

The Magistrate, Mr A. Ajala , granted the accused bail in the sum of N 1 million and one surety in the like sum .

Ajala said the surety must reside within the court jurisdiction with evidence of tax payment and passports sized photographs, attached with an affidavit of means .

He thereafter adjourned the case till Dec. 7 for hearing.
