Aged Woman Knocked Down By Hit-and-run Driver In Osun

An aged woman, who was reportedly knocked down by a hit-and-run driver has been moved from the middle of the road by some good samaritans.

The unconscious woman was said to have been hit by a driver while trying to cross road around popular Olaiya bridge, Osogbo, Osun State capital.

The unfortunate incident according to a resident happened yesterday evening.

Efforts by some residents to take the old woman to the hospital was frustrated due to non responding of the authority saddle with the responsibility of attending to an emergency matter of that nature.

Our correspondent who was at the scene where the old and yet unconscious woman was laying saw some residents lamenting abandonment of the grandma despite since yesterday despite their frantised efforts to render her assistant

According to a good samaritan who simply identified himself as Shalon said when he got to the scene where the woman was laying down helplessly in the middle of the road close to Olaiya Bridge they quickly moved her to the pedestrian roadside.

“We bought her water and food to eat, then she told us she is a native of Osogbo although she could not speak when asked which compound she hails from.

“We reported the case to Dugbe and Ataoja police stations but non of them responded to our efforts in order to rescue the aged woman.
