Biography Of Nigerian Fuji Star, Taye Currency

Taiwo Akande Adebisi, popularly known as Taye Currency, is an Ibadan-based Fuji music singer. He is one of the richest Fuji Musicians in Nigeria.

EARLY LIFE
Taye Akande Adebisi, popularly known as Taye Currency, was born on the 17th of December, 1974, to the family of the late Mr. Ganiu Amoo Adebisi and Alhaja Mojisola Aduke Adebisi. He is a Nigerian Fuji music star. He hails from Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo state.
He attended Abiola Jacobs primary School for his primary education and I.M.G Grammar School, Oke-Ado for his Secondary Education. Taye Currency realized he had the talent for singing due to his constant participation in some of his school’s activities in that required singing.
CAREER
In 1983, Taye began singing as a backup musician for his elder brother, Mr. Sulaiman Akanmu Ademola, commonly known as Commy Jackson, in 1983, when he was 11 years old.
During this time, he fully realized his musical talents and began devoting all of his time and energy to them.
To say the least, it was difficult for Taye to advance his musical career because he was continually rejected and told that he had no future in the entertainment industry. He did not, however, let the bad words and rejection get to him; instead, he chose to remain hardworking and attentive in his studies.
During his training, he relocated to Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, where he worked as a backup singer for four different brands for two years. He expanded his knowledge by collaborating with Ilu-Pesi at Isale Eko in Lagos State. He worked as an apprentice there while also arranging musical instruments for them.
Taye Currency began his career at the age of 17 when he founded the “Currency Band” with his twin brother and manager Rahmon Akilapa, who is now deceased.
He has been doing well in the industry. He began singing at a young age, with his family’s encouragement. Currency claims that his character is the key to his success.
The artist is a true workaholic who puts his heart and soul into everything he does. He also expresses gratitude to his brother, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, for all of his support, and he praises God for his life.
His first son, Hon Yusuf Adebisi Currency graduated from Alhikmah University,Ilorin.
The singer staged a society wedding for his son in April 2018 with several dignitaries in attendance including Arike Olowokoso, Akanni Rasaq, Alhaji Sule minister, Jay Jay Jacob and so on. Hon Yusuf Adebisi is presently a 2 term Honourable Member of Oyo State House of Assembly
