Education Summit : Prof Labo-Popoola Identifies Those To Be Blamed Over Poor Education In Osun

A Resource Person In Academic, Professor Sherifat Labo-Popoola has blamed all stakeholders over poor standard of education in Osun urging the Ministry of Education to monitor teachers and activities across schools in the state.

Professor Labo-Popoola while giving her panel discussion on “Stakeholders Involvement In Education” at Osun 2023 Education Summit on Thursday said that teachers, students, parents and government are to be blamed for the poor state of education in Osun.

She said children has loss their interest in education because of what they heard of others that has gone ahead of them.

She also blamed teachers who doesn’t want their children to become a teacher as they are hereby aspiring that their children going for other professions should taught by good hands.

Professor Labo-Popoola expressed disappointment over some students nowadays that find it so difficult to pronounce a sentence correctly urging the Osun Ministry of Education to monitor the teachers and activities in school.

She however informed parent not to think that education is free, adding that if it is free, someone paid for it, so they should be careful of the quality that comes out of it.

“A degree holder who sells bread is better than a primary school student selling breads.

“Many teachers don’t want their children to be teachers yet they want their children to be taught by good hands.

The preparation of our teachers are nothing to be proud of, stop patching students.

“We all want free education but nothing is free we must let our parent know, if something is free you should be careful of the quality that will come out of it.

“Ministry of Education should be ready to monitor the teachers and the activities in school.”
