An economist at the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile Ife, Dr. Tunji Ogunyemi has urged Nigerians not to be too fixated on the Federal government because they cannot provide all the solutions needed in the country.

In an interview with Ogunyemi on Rave FM Osogbo on Tuesday, he said that the federal government only have Fifty- two percent of all the total income while the states have forty-eight percent which is why they needed to do something.

Ogunyemi pinpointed that it should not only be the federal government that Nigerians will be piling all the budgetary and stress on.

“The federal government of Nigeria is not governing all part of Nigeria, do you know the federal government does not take more than fifty two percent of all the total income.

“Why will some people be thinking the federal government will do all the solution, what of the state of the federation, is there nothing to be done by the local government, the state have even taken over the local government.

“The time has come for us to stop piling all the budgetary on the Federal government, it should not be only the federal government they should be piling all the stress on because they have forty-eight percent of the total income of the Nigeria nation is in the hand of the governor that is almost all.”
