Fuel Subsidy Removal: Civil Societies Stage Protest In Osogbo

The Osun Civil Societies Coalition (OCSC) on Monday staged a peaceful protest in response to the economic difficulties caused by the removal of fuel subsidy by the federal government.

The protest, led by the Chairman of the coalition, Comrade Waheed Lawal, is gaining attendance from various civil society groups and their affiliates in the state.

According to the organizers’ statement, the protesters’ demands include immediate solutions to address the economic hardships, commercialization of education, lack of palliatives, fuel subsidy removal, electricity tariff hike, and the growing insecurity issue.

The rally will start at 8 am from Ayetoro junction and will end at the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, Osogbo.

The organizers call on all concerned Nigerians and stakeholders to join the rally.
