Osun Governor Charges Corp Members On Commitment, Patriotism To Nation Building

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has charged the 2023 Batch B, Stream 1 Corps Members to be patriotic and committed towards nation building in their day to day activities.
The Governor gave the charge during the swearing- in and official opening ceremony of the 2023 Batch ,stream 1 orientation course for corp members deployed to Osun State which took place at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede.
In his admonition, Governor Ademola Adeleke, through the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi called on every corp member deployed to Osun State to know that their call to serve is a selfless and patriotic one which propels towards nation building. Consequently, as he observed, the government has entrusted the NYSC Scheme with the mandate of mobilizing, training and empowering graduate youths with requisite skills so as to have a mindset towards patriotic service, national integration and socioeconomic development of the State.
Governor Adeleke said further that the scheme is designed to broaden their knowledge, horizon and widen their scope to further contribute their quota to the overall development of the State.
While talking about their welfare, the Governor assured them that his administration will continue to support the Scheme in the State in ensuring their welfare and safety during the service year
“I assure you that my government will continue to support the NYSC Scheme in the State in ensuring your welfare and safety during the service year. I want you to let go of all negative preconceptions which are capable of marring the fun of the service year. Osun State is a beautiful and peaceful State with peace-loving and accommodating people “.
” Dear compatriots in service, I urge you to join us to make our economy bigger and stronger by embracing skills acquisition and entrepreneurship. Be creative and innovative as graduates by not only thinking of consuming but rather begin to think of what you can produce or offer as a solution to human needs and problems”.
Earlier in his introductory address, the NYSC Osun State coordinator, Mr Agbor Ndoma appreciated Mr. Governor for always working the talk as all promises made by him to see to the renovation of the Orientation Camp has been fulfilled.
While talking about the purpose of the Scheme, Mr. Agbor Ndoma said it was created to raise a crop of disciplined, detribalised and patriotic youths.
He said further that the orientation course which is the first phase of the service is a three-week regimented programme designed to adequately equip corp members for the challenges that lie within and ahead of the service year.
He therefore charged them to strictly adhere to the rules and regulation of the scheme and to sustain the relevance of the Scheme by committing themselves to hard work, patriotic service and community development service, as one of the canons of the Scheme creation.
