AIU Suspends Nigerian Athlete, Tobi Amusan Over Doping Violation

The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) has suspended Nigeria’s athlete, Tobi Amusan after she was allegedly accused of missing drug tests.
Regulatory body AIU made the statement via a post on microblogging platform Twitter.
The statement read,
“The AIU confirms that it has today charged and provisionally suspended Tobi Amusan (NGR) for 3 Whereabouts Failures.
“The Charge will be heard by the Disciplinary Tribunal and determined before the World Athletics Championships.”
According to the AIU, a provisional suspension occurs when an Athlete is under temporary suspension.
During this period, the athlete cannot participate in any competition or activity in Athletics while awaiting a final decision at a hearing conducted under the World Athletics Anti-Doping Rules or the Integrity Code of Conduct.
