EPL: Diego Simeone Reacts As Pochettino Rejects Signing Joao Felix For Chelsea

Atletico Madrid boss, Diego Simeone, has insisted that Joao Felix has a future at Colchoneros after Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino rejected the opportunity to sign the forward on a permanent deal.

Felix, who was signed by Atletico Madrid for £113 million from Benfica back in 2019, has struggled to make an impact during his time in La Liga.

He joined Chelsea on loan in the January transfer window for the remainder of the season.

However, the Portugal international has not done enough to convince Pochettino and Chelsea that his move should be made permanent this summer transfer window.

Speaking on the development, Simeone said that Atletico Madrid would give the 23-year-old the support he needs to improve at the La Liga giants.

“Joao is an Atletico Madrid player who, if he does not have a place at Chelsea, as Pochettino apparently said, he will have to come to Atletico de Madrid, he will have to work with us again, and obviously we will be willing to give him the best for that he can improve in what we believe is important,” Simeone told El Partidazo de COPE.
