Why Man City Hammered Bayern Munich In UCL Encounter – Guardiola

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has admitted that the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Bayern Munich was “a tight game”.

The Premier League champions took the lead in the first half, thanks to a stunning long-range effort from Rodri.

Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland added goals after the break, to ensure City took a healthy lead into the return leg.

Guardiola, speaking to BBC, said: “It really was a good Champions League game, and top teams. During 55, 60 minutes it was a tight game.

“We found an incredible goal from Rodri but we could not control the pockets, with Musiala and Gnabry.

“The first five, 10, 15 minutes of the second half they were better, they had chances. But after, we adjusted something and in the last parts of the game we were better.”
