100 Days In Office: Adeleke Commissions 2 Blocks Of 8 Classroom

Adeleke committed to improvement of basic economic and social conditions of communities in Osun – CSDA GM, Abokede

Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has reiterated his commitment in ensuring that public schools in the state are well equipped with modern facilities to ensure students learn in a conducive environment.

Adeleke stated this, on Wednesday while commissioning rehabilitated 2 blocks of 8 classroom and reticulated borehole water at Dagbolu Community Primary School Olorunda Local Government Areas, Osun.

Blaze Newz gathered that the projects were executed by the Osun State Government through Osun State Community and Social Development Agency (OSUN CSDA) under the Osun COVID 19- Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus Program (Os CARES), a World Bank intervention programme.

The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi at the commissioning of the projects which was in commemoration of his 100 days in office said the projects were evidence of his commitment to the implementation of inclusive education, the commitment of promise to launch reform with direct focus on improvement of learning environment and outcome to reverse poor performance of students in public institutions.

According to the governor “We are here to move Osun State forward in the area of education putting the decaying infrastructures back in shape.

“Research has shown that an enabling learning environment increases students’ attention and focus; promotes meaningful learning experiences, encourages higher levels of students’ performance and motivates students to practice higher level of critical thinking skills.

“In other words, positive classroom environment will always motivate students to learn, remove negative emotions such as stress and other things that impedes teaching and learning.

The governor ,however, enjoined residents of Dagbolu and the school authority to ensure adequate maintenance and sustainability of the projects such that generations yet unborn will benefit from them.

In her own address, General Manager of the Osun State Community and Social Development Agency (Osun CSDA) Funmi Abokede “This commissioning is only possible because of the funding provided by the Executive Governor of the State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke 98 micro projects are been funded across the State out of which 5 micro projects are in this school to be commissioned today.

Highlighting the completed five projects, she said “Constructed fence and gate house, borehole water with reticulations meant to improve sanitation and hygiene in the school as well as in Dagbolu Community.

Others are ; Ventilated Improved Pit (VIP) toilets, Playing Arena for the pupils to recreate and rehabilitated 2 blocks of 8 classrooms which according to Abokede will provide a good learning environment for the pupils adding that “this will not only encourage increase in enrolment, but retention and more importantly very good performance of the pupils in their examinations.

While speaking on the state governor, Abokede stressed that “As shown today, the Executive Governor of Osun State is committed and dedicated to the improvement of basic economic and social conditions of the communities in Osun State.

“Indeed, our Governor is walking his talk on his 5 Point Development Agenda to ensure that electoral promises are translated into needed social amenities and development through Osun State Community and Social Development Agency (Osun CSDA) under the Osun COVID 19- Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus Program (Osun CARES), a World Bank intervention Programme.

“Osun CSDA is the agency that make use of community Driven Development (CDD). bottom-up approach and primarily finance Micro projects initiated by communities.

The Osun CSDA boss said “We are here today to celebrate the remarkable assistance of Osun State Government to improve the school facilities of Community Primary School, Dagbolu through Osun State Community and Social Developme Agency (OSUN CSDA) under the Osun COVID 19- Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus Program (Os CARES), a World Bank intervention programme.

“Children are the future of any community and investing in their education is an investment for the future. Education is the key to eliminating inequality and reduction of poverty; hence the implementation of these projects in this Community Primary School, here in Dagbolu was to provide a conducive place for teaching and learning.

“This commissioning is only possible because of the funding provided by the Executive Governor of the State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke 98 micro projects are been funded across the State out of which 5 micro projects are in this school to be commissioned today.

“As shown today,the executive Governor of Osun State is committed and dedicated to the improvement of basic economic and social conditions of the communities in Osun State.

Speaking on the agency, Abokede said “Osun CSDA is the agency that make use of community Driven Development (CDD) bottom-up approach and primarily finance Micro projects initiated by communities.

She lauded leadership of Dagbolu Community, parents and teachers of the Community school for their contribution and participation before and during the implementation of the micro projects.

Also speaking, the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, Laroye II, represented by Baba kekere of Osogbo land, Prince Suleiman Olanipekun said he elated that the Adeleke-led administration is responding to the needs of the people.

He showered royal blessings to the governor saying he will succeed in all his campaign promises to the entire people of the state.

Headmistress of the school, Mrs Mojisola Ojo told Blaze Newz that before now motorists always pass through the school but now they can boast of having fence with gate.

“I really appreciate our governor for what he did in our school, our school is not like this before, okada and motor riders always pass here, they don’t even recognize these children but we thank our governor for rehabilitating this school for us” she said.

Appreciating the gesture of the governor, Mrs Ojo pray that God will help him saying “As he has started well, he will end well.”
