A former member of the House Of Representatives , historian and legal practitioner, Honourable Femi kehinde has stated that the current naira scarcity in Nigeria was a self inflicted conflagration.

Kehinde made this known ,on Friday, while speaking with Rave FM Osogbo. said, ” The current scenario looks like a self inflicted conflagration. ”

The former lawmaker said “This is not the first time Nigeria will change her currency, Nigeria changed her currency doing the Nigeria’s Biafra civil war in 1968”.

“Even if Nigeria want to change her currency, it ought not to be in an hazard manner like we witness today” he opined.

“The other side of rule of law is rule of Anarchy, when you provide for Anarchy then the governments has decended from the social contrast theory,and will give now way for a life that is short, brutish and nasty” he said.

He added “I have looked at the history of Central Bank of Nigeria,CBN, and I have look at the governor of Central Bank since 1968 I have not seen one that cause us trauma, discare and discomfort.”

Commenting on the new naira notes, he said “The way we are handling our curency will certainly encourage corruption and inflation.”
