World Radio Day: Veteran Journalist Charges Radio Broadcasters To Remain Peace Maker

Veteran journalist, Adetoyese Shittu Alamu has charged older broadcasters to nurture by enligthening upcoming broadcasters on the use of radio to eschew violence by advocating for peace at all time.

Alamu made this charge, on Tuesday while commenting on ‘Radio and Peace” theme for 2023 World Radio Day.

The retired Osun State Broadcasting Cooperation,OSBC, journalist told Rave FM, Osogbo that radio is expectd to be an initiator of peace and harmony within existence, particularly in different community and society”.

He said “a radio should not be said nor allow to be seen as being one sided.

“Broadcasters have a body in every country, that body regulate the system of radio presentations and broadcast generally so it prevents loose talk and bias on radio”.

Urging the younger broadcasters, Alamu enjoined them to subject themselves to continuous training and ensure to know the attributes of being a good broadcaster.

“Broadcasters generally while training the younger ones should insist on the conditions with which they were being brought up”, Alamu said.
