University Education Not Mend For All - VC Cautions Nigerians

As he joined his voice with other advocates to encourage secondary school leavers seeking for higher education, Vice Chancellor of the University of Osun State, UNIOSUN, Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye said university education is not for all.

Professor Clement made this submission while featuring on Fresh FM, Osogbo, on Wednesday.

The UNIOSUN VC who stressed that university education should not been seen as a must for everyone, encouraged students to also take the option of technical schools, vocational schools, among others.

While using himself as example, the professor said his own son opted for a technical school instead of university “where he could use his brain to fabricate machines.”

Speaking on the numerous problems Nigerian is facing , Professor Clement said we want to rush everybody into the university, added that this resulted to the killing of technical colleges.

He, however, called for revamping of technical colleges saying ” we should to to revamp technical colleges and make them functional, some people are actually mend for the technical colleges.”

Blaze Newz gathered that large number of federal university students since February have been forced to be out of classroom over the industrial action going on by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.
