Former Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun says he is not in support of the current administration in the state stating that all efforts must be made to vote the government out of power.
The Former governor while speaking after receiving an award from the Abeokuta Club to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the associations stated that the 2019 governorship election in the state was rigged to favour of the incumbent and called on his supporters to be on the lookout for the next line of action.
The former governor while speaking on the 2019 Ogun state Governorship election for the first time after leaving office stated that his supported candidate of APM, Mr. AbdulKabir Akinlade won the election but was rigged in favour of the occupant of the seat.
The senator representing Abeokuta Central Senatorial district noted that some of those involved have disclosed their parts in the rigging and have apologized. He explained that there was a gang up against his person noting that he had since moved on.
Senator Amosun hinted he was elated with the award given to him by the Abeokuta club describing it as a recognition of his administration’s remarkable efforts.
Senator Amosun while responding to a comment that he did not spread his administration achievements across the state said his land mark projects are present in all the senatorial districts in the state.
Earlier, Former Ogun state governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba had commended Senator Amosun for the infrastructural upgrade of Abeokuta capital city including the ongoing amphitheater at the Alake palace.
The president of Abeokuta club, Chief Tokunbo Odebunmi while speaking said there are pressure on all the infrastructure cited at the state capital hence the need for the state government to always treat the capital city specially.
The commissioning of projects and award ceremony of the Abeokuta club was part of the fiftieth anniversary celebration of the club.
