The July 16 2022 Osun Governorship Election outcome will reshape the destiny of the state carved out of Oyo State in 1991.
Electorate of more than one million will decide among the fifteen governorship candidates their preferred governor to lead the state for another four years.
Blaze Newz gathered that Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the incumbent governor , Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress, APC, are the duo predicted for the job.
It would be recalled that Governor Oyetola during his 2018 electioneering campaign confronted serious tongue-lashing from critics of his predecessor over questionable policies which were later reversed as demanded by concerned citizens.
The popular among the reversed policies is the reclassification of public schools and the return to their old school uniforms. This sparkled discord between Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and his successor Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
Another questionable policy of the current APC government is the making of Osun Anthem (Recomposed Version) recitation mandatory in all official gathering approved by the immediate governor of the state contrary to the one in existence before the former governor reclaimed his mandate in 2010 is likely to be ignored by Adeleke’s PDP led-government if given the mandate on Saturday.
It was observed that through out Osun APC campaign activities the state anthem was recited which reverse is the case for Osun PDP and other political parties.
The use of “Sate of Osun” is another hurdle Adeleke’s government is likely to face considering the phrase not constitutionally accept beyond the shores of Osun, only the state APC government among the political parties that exist in the state make use of the phrase.
Speaking on the phrase of “State of Osun” in an interview Special Advisers to Governor Oyetola on Education, Jamiu Olawumi confessed that the state ministry of education letterhead still maintains Osun State saying the State of Osun is not recognized outside the state.
The disengagement of local government chairmen and secretary appointment by Oyetola led-government after other political parties called for proper election will be a shocking move if Adeleke emerged as Osun governor.

Governor Oyetola after setting up the Osun State Independent Election Commission ,OSIEC, chaired by Otunba Segun Oladitan, explained to the state that his government is financially incapacitated to conduct local government election as demanded by the people.
This led to the appointment of caretakers into the state LGs for six months from July 2021 which was recently extended for another six months by the Osun State House of Assembly.
Blaze Newz gathered that the last local government elections in Osun State were held on Saturday, January 27, 2018, where the All Progressives Congress (APC) contested unopposed while other political parties boycotted.
