Alexander Zverev has given fans some welcome news as he posted a video of himself walking without crutches.
The world number two suffered a horrible injury during his French Open semi-final against Rafael Nadal last month.
He was chasing down a ball on his forehand side late in the second set, but his foot stuck in the clay and turned his ankle instead of sliding.
Zvevev had to leave the court in a wheelchair before returning to concede the match, and later scans showed he had torn three ligaments in his foot.
He has previously said he will only make the trip to New York this year if he can see himself realistically winning it. With just six weeks until the tournament gets underway, that doesn’t give him much time at all.
“I won’t be someone who plays after being ready for it for one second,” Zverev recently told Bild. “If I play the US Open then [the aim is] to win and not for one or two rounds. “I will only return if I have this form.
“I don’t know whether it will be the US Open because I would have to play one or two tournaments beforehand. But I haven’t written off New York.”
