Gboyega Oyetola Foundation Holds Hunters’ Fiesta, Thursday

A Non-government Organization, Gboyega Oyetola Foundation, in its efforts to revamp some of dying Yoruba cultures across Southwest part of the country, has concluded plans to organize the state’s first hunters’ fiesta in Osogbo, the state capital.

This was contained in a press statement issued and signed by the President of the Foundation, Dr. Yemi Adegoke and made available to journalists in Osogbo.

According to the Foundation’s boss, the idea to revamp most of the dying cultures for which Yoruba land were known are steadily going into extinction without anyone giving any care.

“This development has become so worrisome that the management of the Foundation decided to pick up the gauntlet and promote them,” Dr Adegoke stated.

Speaking further on the near-extinction of most of Yoruba cultures, he reiterated that the level of the neglect has become so worrisome that if care is not taking, none of popular Yoruba cultures will remain in few decades from now.

Dr Adegoke therefore called on all elites of Yoruba extraction to take up the challenge of ensuring that Yoruba cultures do not go into extinction.

Speaking on the proposed Hunters’ Fiesta holding on Thursday, Foundation’s President stressed that it will mark the starting point as the Foundation will organise more of such cultural display to showcase to the whole world that Yoruba race remains one to beat with time.

“The proposed Hunters’ Fiesta scheduled for Thursday is just the starting point for other ways of showcasing our rich culture to the whole world,” he stated further.

He therefore used the opportunity to invite members of the public to the event, which will have the state’s helmsman, Governor Gboyega Oyetola and members of the state Executive Council in attendance with thousands of practising hunters in the state performing to entertain everyone.
