2021 South Africa Election: Cyril Will Have To Vote With Us On Land Before We Talk About Coalitions – Malema

Informal coalition talks begin in the Western Cape, but parties still waiting on final results

The coalition talks in the Western Cape according to local reports took centre stage on Thursday as political parties considered the idea of getting in bed with each other.

Backroom talks, behind-the-scenes telephonic discussions, WhatsApp chats and even social media conversations have started in earnest, with mainstream parties wooing the new kingmakers in several councils.

The Patriotic Alliance turned out to be a crucial kingmaker in the political arena, having secured nearly 50 seats nationally.

Speaking on the coalition talks, Julius Malema said “Cyril is going to have to vote with us on land expropriation without compensation before we talk about metros.

“We are using everything available to make sure our land is expropriated within historical means. We are using this outcome (election outcome) to try and amend the constitution.”

However, ANC in KZN said they will be looking at which parties to form coalitions with based on which parties align with their principles. Provincial secretary Mdumiseni Ntuli says it is unlikely that they will form a coalition with the DA.
