EFCC Confirms Receiving 20 Arrested TASUED Students From Army



The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed receiving Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) students arrested by the Nigerian Army.

The officers of the 12 Field Engineering Regiment in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, took the suspected internet fraudsters to EFCC Ibadan zonal command.

The students were taken in during a face-off last Thursday with soldiers as they celebrated the end of their final examination.

EFCC Head of Media, Wilson Uwujaren, released their names in a statement on Monday.

The suspects are Azeez Hameed Busayo, Olubor Chuks Winner, Amusa Abdulhakeem, Osoko Adesola David, Diyaolu Daniel Damilola, Olunlade Quadri Olamilekan, Amaje Kelly Armstrong.

Akorede Olaleye Tope, Owonifari Niyi Sanwiyu, Ganiyu Olamide Sodiq, Onasanya Taiwo Adeniyi, Ajayi Muhaymin Adesola, Asenuga Ridwan Ayotomiwa.

Others include, Bamgboye Tobiloba Quadri, Ayede Opeyemi Oluwaseun, Oseni Abolore Ismail, Olaniyan Mayowa Emmanuel, Akanni Qudus Olaleye and Onasile Abiodun Sunday.

Eleven vehicles, twenty nine phones and suspected hard drugs were recovered from them. The cars are still in the custody of Army.

Uwujaren announced that 19 of the 20 students have been indicted in the ongoing investigation.

The spokesman added that they will be charged to court at the end of the inquiry
