Update: Police Officer, Student Killed As Armed Robbers Attack Access, UBA Banks In Osun

A police officer has been killed in Iree community, Boripe Local Government area of the Osun State as Armed Robbers robbed two commercial banks on Thursday.

The armed robbers attacked Access bank and United Bank of Africa, UBA, at 3:45pm on Thursday.

The robbery that lasted for about 25 minutes created tension among the residents of the community and students.

It was gathered that the gunmen shot a private car owner and carted away his car.

The daredevils were said to have escaped through Ada town.

A police station which is between where the two commercial banks are located was also attacked.

One police officer on duty was killed, many properties were destroyed at the police station.

Blaze Newz gathered that a stray bullet killed a yet-to-be-identified student during the operations.

Osun State Police Command spokesperson, SP Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident.

She said the tactical team are in pursuit of the armed robbers.
